The very first thing you consider before you buy a product is that "Is it under my budget?". Well, I wanted to buy a gift for my dear one with a product coming under Rs. 5000 and my friend suggested this beauty.
This model is available in two colors, Silver and the black. The silver is the one which made me gawk at it for a while. Here are the few points I kept in mind before I would buy it and this one happen to qualify for most of it.
1) nice color display
2) long battery life
3) easy navigation
4) decent camera
5) featureing mp3 player and FM RADIO
6) extendible memory feature and
7) data connection availabilty
Looks & Color display- its sexy **Slim(9.9m), shining with great metallic finish and stylish. I wanted a cell phone which would look comtempary and trendy but not loud. It is really so slim and it just slips down in your so pocket easily. I could see the feminine glimpse in it so I decided it as a great gift for a lady. It weighs around 66 gm. Screen is wide enough(1.9’ inches) giving it an edge compared to other colors phones having TFT screen of same price range. Color display is something which surprised me(265K Color) when I knew it was coming for a such price. It is very adept, the graphic handling is very well done. Clarity is appreciable
Sound** - I heard it, it is just ok and if you happen to be a regular listener you would not complain. Being a musician I expect a lot of clarity and balance from the system. For this I find sony walkman best of all. It is not dissappointing at all however if you are into sound you would know that it needs more detailing. The speakers are amazing and loud enough to be heard. Clarity given out is adept as well. Inbuild MP3 player is provided which supports format like mp3, wma, MIDI, acc, acc+ and e-AAC+.FM Radio is also available and it catches the frequency in decent/satisfactory manner.
Camera - 1.3 megapixel with 3x digital zoom, I am not that happy with the clarity, it is very "kaam-chalo". if you happen to shoot with a little bit of shaking, the picture goes bad. Normal feature in shoot mode is available(Singleshot, timer, multishot, mosiacshot and night shot), you can modify the way picture would look by feature called photo effect where the picture can be shooted in black & white, sepia, negative, fog, moonlight, antique or emboss. You can adjust the brightness, contrast by switching the white balance feature option to auto(automatically adjustment), daylight, fluorescent, cloudy. Video recording is also available, you can send video messages too if the service is activated.
Connectivity and other features - Worst part is that there is no direct connectivity available with data cable. Data cable is not an accessory you can use with this cell phone. so, you would need to remove the memory card and they connect it to card reader and then store or remove data from it. Bluetooth is available. WAP is available. One can also connect to internet using InternetHTML browser once GPRS service is activated. Normal basic features used in day to day life is also available like alarm, calender, currency convertor, calculator, memo book, stopwatch, scheduler etc.around 9 games are installed with java as a source. SMS/MMS with dictionary and email facility also available.
Memory & battery - It has 10 mb internal memory however you can increase the memory by adding microsb card since it has extendible memory feature. You can save about 1000 contacts and about500 smses in the internal memory. Battery talk time last 6 hours and if not used stays alive for 2 days max.
This is a very attractive looking yet useful phone with all the satifactory features. The keys in the keypad are bit hard to press but I believe with time you would find it ok. The only serious problem I found was the datacable feature being absent. You really can’t transfer lot of files via bluetooth or buy another card reader to transfer data in your microsd card. If you want nice looking slim camera phone with color display and mp3 player with all decent level quality and with ofcourse cost less than 5 grands. This should be a three star for you!
