I got this phone chosen over the NOKIA 5210, and I have no regrets.
Apart from the LCD display that can light up a railway platform the phone is extremely user friendly. The interface is easy, though a NOKIA would have the best I would say. The functions are basic and efficient. Its small but not so small that you lose it, quite the right size infact, any smaller and it would have been uncomfortable to handle.
Some features like assigning a colour and tone to particular ID is a nice feature. IT adds variety to a users experience.
The ringer tones (apart from no.1, 2 and 3) suck big time! the picture messages are also not too good but the phone allows downloads and these can be easily replaced. There is no voice recognition dialling.. which is sad because other phones in the same price range have them, and I wonder what samsung was doing when the marketing guys came up with the stats.
The phone memory of 100 is adequate since the sim card itself has about another 50 or 100..
What I find annoying about the phone is that if you happen to be sending a sms and at the same time you receive one, then the phone just hangs.. like in a computer. It stops functioning and one has to put if off and on again.
The vibrating alert function is also different from the NOKIA, it vibrates first and then rings, not that it matters but it means that if your caller isnt a patient person you may miss a call simply because u didnt hear a ring and couldnt feel the phone vibrating as well.
The ear piece and the microphone are both good. There is no echo while you are calling, and its clear and good. Reception of signal is also quite good. IT can catch a signal where some of my other friends phones cant.
For Rs.6500/- I think it is great value for money. It does lack some features but one cant have it all right.
