Samsung X100 is a good phone if u r looking for a phone with basic features only.
I bought this phone last year and no problem till date.
At this cheap price (I bought in Mar 04 at 6700/-), its hard to find another phone with so many features especially 65K color 40 polyphony rings.
Pros of this phone

Ringtone - 40 polyphony
Connectivity - GPRS, WAP
Other Features - SMS, MMS (no video), Voice recorder (1 min), calculator, Java
Battery life - With normal usage (daily 30-40 mts of talk time, 15-20 mts of games) battery easily lasted for 2-3 days.
Reception - Good
Look & Feel - metallic and good looking, attractive as compared to cheap and plastic looking Nokia phones
Cons

No photophone book - You can not assign a photo of ur friend to any number. Only preloaded graphic icons can be assigned.
No personalised ringtones (downloaded) - You can assign only the preloaded default ringtones to ur friend’s number. If you think u can assign a recently downloaded ringtone for ur friend, sorry not possible.
USB cable hard to find - Finally I had to settle for a cable from pirated market
Ringtone volume - can not be heard in a noicy/crowded area
Screen visibility in sunlight - poor
Can not convert recorded voice into ringtone.
Downloading games (from a pre-paid card) is a headache.
