The samsung X700 is a well balanced Handset especially in design.
The size of the handset is (108x43.7x19.4 mm) and weighs 95g, I have checked out the colour Black which looks really sexy of all the colours offerered well this is my personal choice. the whole body of the phone is black in colour with a hint of silver on the sides and has a soft plastic casing, the phone looks hardy enough but leaves the impression of the fingerprints especialy on the display area whick makes it look a tad dirty.
the phone when held in the hand gives a cosy fit and does not feels that its going to slip out.
the phone has been assembled well enough and the different parts compliment each other and nothing looks out of place only the side buttons are so deep fitted that they do not project outside the body which makes the pressing of the side button a tad difficult.
The keypad ergonomics is pretty good keeping in mind the reletively narrow body the keys have white backlight and one may have some problem with the navigational keypad of this set as it takes time to get used to as I found it rather uncomfortable.
This phone has Sterroloud speakers seen as small gaps in the top part of each side, the volume with the speaker is good enough considering the size of the phone.
this handset comprises of a standard 262k TFT with the resolution of 176x220 has a pretty sharp picture quality the problem being it loses some clarity when seen in the sun but is still pretty visible. the font size of the menu is larger but that of the Sms is small so it may cause some problem composing sms for people with poor eyesight.
Has volume button on the left side and also has a mini Usb connector for connecting the stereo headset hidden by plastic shutter, the button of the camera is a bit low dont know why is it causes discomfort and has a transflash slot right at the bottom, has a strap hollow at the top end and an interface connector.
now the battery is 800mAh Li-Ion according to the samsung people it is supposed to last 220hrs in the standby mode and upto 5 hrs of talkmode, but let me warn you that playing with the memory card reduces the battery life considerebly , so on an average its gonna last 2 days but the best part is the battery is fully charged in 1.5 hrs flat.remember the memory card is not bundeled with the kit
the phone book can have Up to 1000 names with all the data in the phone’s memory. Now there is another problem there is an option of moving the files from the sim card but not viceversa. this phone.
Applications.There are three games preinstalled in the phone - Forgotten Warrior, Freekick, ArchAngel.
MP3 player: has an integrated MP3 player.
Dictaphone: has a dictaphone to record voice memos but cannt record conversation as it works only in the stand-by-mode
has a display for world time for two cities at a time, the phone has three alarm clocks for different settings, has a calculator, converter, countdown timer,
has an integrated FM radio where u can have a max of 30 stations saved. the sound quality of the radio is near perfect, supports MMS, has an organiser WHICH CAN HOLD UPTO 400 EVENTS which is pretty handy and has a menu of 4 types in the organiser mainly:meeting, affair, anniversary and others.
also has a Wap browser ver 2.0. instead of themes it is mentioned as skins in this phone and has four of them of which two can also change the header it turns roundish. Has a blue tooth capability.
the best part of this phone is its camera which can support 6 resolutions,

i love the video recording capability of this phone it is limitless and depends upon the amount of free memory. this phone records 3Gp video.
the video quality is below average :(
the sound during conversation is excellent , the vibrating alert is not very strong and can be often missed if you do not make a conscious effort and the old problem of Samsung of vibra first and then melody continues I hate this.
this model supports EDGE technology.
PROBLEMS
1)THE VIDEO RECORDING QUALITY IS POOR OR AT THE BEST AVERAGE.
2)VOICE RECORDING CAN ONLY BE DONE IN THE STAND-BY-MODE
3)YOU CAN ONLY LISTEN TO THE RADIO WITH THE HEADSET AND NOT THROUGH THE SPEAKER
4) VOICE DIALLING IS ABSENT (although it hardly matters)
5) WORKING WITH BLUE TOOTH WITH OTHER HANDSET WAS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE.
