I am an eternal fan of Sanjeev Kumar. If today we have SRK Yesterday we had SK. For me he was the most versatile actor ever to be seen on the Hindi Film world. He may not be as good looking and charming as many other of his generation, but his brilliant performance in many movies covered for all his physical lacunae.
His performance as a mentally challenged person in Khilona stands way ahead of all such performances by others. his acting in Koshish might have inspired Amitabh while portraying his role in Black. How can any one forget the Thakur of Sholay. His performance in Angoor is simply superb without any parallel. The way he expressed humour by the twitch of his mouth, by standing in a corner like a dullard etc., all are mark of a great star that he was.
In filmi sense he may not be a succesfull star, his films may not have grossed the moolah expected but no body can question his dedication in characterising the roles will complete sincerety. It is sad that while people celebrate birthdays of so many run of the mill stars with much euphporia there is not much written about this star.
