I had a terrible experience today at Sankara nethralaya, Chennai. I wanted to write my feedback in the hospital website but the moment you tick the complaints radio button in the form, the website feedback form does not accept our feedback and keep complaining of incomplete submission.
Here is what I wrote on the feedback form and this is about my experience at the Sankara Nethralaya Eye Hospital, College Road campus.
"Sir,
Terrible experience of my life today when Dr. Shruti Suresh bruised my eyes during the eye exam with her long nails. I am still having the pain and the mark under my eyes made by her extra-long nails. It is only a common sense to cut ones nails to keep up with the hygienic practices expected of a medico. But when a doctor uses her nails carelessly to press the tender skin underneath the patients eyes and does not stop, despite the patient complaining of pain is shocking and speak of utter disregard for the patients comfort level. At first, I thought that it was a scalpel. But to my horror, I found that it was her extra-long nails. The kind of pressure that she exerted was as if my eyeballs would pop out. When an ophthalmologist, who is supposed to be providing eyecare, especially from a reputed hospital like yours, leaves deep nail marks and bruises under the patients eyes, the patient is left with disappointment and a very poor impression of your hospital."
In Sankara Nethralaya, the consultation fee is 500/- and registration is 100/- . My advice would be to check with the hospital before visiting about which physician you are going to consult and request for a senior physician(even if it is a reputed hospital).
