After reading a lot of reviews I planned to go to Saputara. Though I have been there before, this time the placed seemed very different.
To Saputara: Only accessible by road. 80 kms from Nashik. Better if you have your own vehicle. Or else you can hire one from Nashik. We boarded from Dadar @ 6:30 , reached Nashik by 9:50 am by Tapovan Express and took the Nashik -Surat Asiad(semi luxury) bus which leaves the Thakkar Bus Stand @ 10:30 am and reached Saputara by 12:45 pm. Very comfortable, no hassles at all.
Stay: Saputara offers a lot of choice from Budget to the Super luxury. We stayed @ HOTEL GOKUL, a family run place. Budget-Economy accomodation. Simple and clean. Moreover it being off season we got a good deal.Other hotels
Budget: Gokul, Hotel Remi, Hotel Vaishali, Hotel Toran
Luxury: Chitrakoot Resort, Vaity Ropeway Resort, Hotel Patang
Super Luxury: Shilpi Hill Resort. Hotel Anando
What to do: like other hill sattions you have the
ECHO POINT(sucks)
SUNRISE POINT
SUNSET POINT(Awesome)
BOATING
ROPEWAY
MUSUEM
some temples etc etc.
You can hire a vehicle to go around, but we had two days to spare, so did not need it. Anyways the spots arent that far either
.
Eat: Saputara offers everything from Gujaarti, south indian, Punjabi, Chinese. Avoid Non-Veg. My recommendation: Gujarati Thali @ Purohit. Simply great. Also munch on Strawberries.
To Nashik: We checked out after 2 days of wandering and relaxation. Got the Ahmedabad-Nashik bus of GSRTC. Reached Nashik by 1:00 pm
Overall: Go there if you want to relax and calm down a little. Suitable for couples as well as Families. Don t go there if you want to have a blast and party. If you are in Nashik, Saputara can be good One day outing.
