Sarangi formerly known as Haveli is one of the most popular restaurants in the popular Camp area of Pune!For those of you who haven’t really noticed it, its bang opposite the Victory cinema on East Street.
The Interior of the restaurant transports you to another time and place. You are instantly reminded of a gypsy tent in faraway Rajasthan. There are beautiful bridges and waterfall that give you the impression that you are seated in a scenic landscape and not indoors in a closed restaurant!Soft music croons in the background and instantly soothes your mind.
Indian, Chinese and Moghlai cuisines are served here. There is a well stocked bar too. The food however is nothing too unusual and the menu consists of most of the regular favorites. The Chicken Makhanwala and Tikkas here are most relished. I’d recommend the Paneer Tikkas too. The Chinese too is quite a treat for the tastebuds.
Sarangi is usually crowded on weekends and a prior reservation is necessary at times. The staff here is quite decent and helpful and the service is pretty quick.The dishes are priced between Rs 75 to Rs 150 and the portions are ample.A meal for two inclusive of starters and all wouldn’t go over Rs.500/-
This place makes a good venue to spend a romantic evening or a memorable get together owing to its lush ambience. However, if you’re look for food that’s absolutely out of this world, you may be a tad disappointed.
