This bank where our entire family had an account for last over 20 years. with reasonably good deposits throughout. including DMAT account and having availed locker facility for decades.
Post my dad expired . the kind of torture we had to undergo to rename his account on my mom’s name was beyond imagination. Their ancient processes required the kind of documentation from the references which made our faces turn red while accumulating required papers. The documents that the references had to produce included their salary slips, provident fund slips, residential address proofs, their loan details, banking details and a dozen other things - which typically we don’t even share with close friends.
While contacted their HO to review the process, the response was lukewarm and we ended up finally gathering all these - purely basis the good gesture from the people who were willing to provide these details.
The service rendered in the branch is horrific and only those who belong to the era where people used look at banker as god on whose mercy they live - can tolerate this bank.
Eyes open when you actually get in such situation. We are nearly through with the documentation and immediately shifting all accounts to other private banks.
