Saravana Bhavan, Connaught Place, New Delhi is the heart of all South Indian delicacies. Their menu is very simple and self-explanatory. The tactile feeling of the filter coffee is pretty impressive. A delicious mix of mashed and boiled potatoes, onions and mouth-watering South Indian spices finds its way in crispy Masala Dosa. As goes with South Indian servings, the dosa comes with proper serving of green chutney, coconut and tomato chutney; not to forget sambhar whose second serving are always cherished.
Besides sambhar, they also serve rasam, pachadi amongst other curry’s which are worth trying. Saravana Bhavan restaurant also offers Coconut Rava Masala Dosa, which is yet another recommended tasty serving. Their lunch menu offers Thali which is splendid and is filling with a single serving. They also offer Sweet Lassi and Lemon Soda which are the go to beverages for thirsty visitors. They also offer Kozhukkattai, a Keralite recipe, which is a very authentic South Indian dumpling made with rice flour, jiggery and topped with grated coconut, 5 pm onwards. They also offer Rasam Papad also called Masala Papad, which is the most enjoyed dish during monsoon.
The restaurant offers a decent service while the meals are enjoyed although one may have to wait for some time, not longer than 5-7 minutes during weekdays. For those who are in a rush should prefer takeaways from this place as this place offers food at reasonable cost.
