SARKAR is the third movie for actor vijay and director ar.murugodoss working together. released on deepavali 2018 with great fanfare sarkar dosen't live up to the expectation it created before its release. I watched the 10.30 am show and being a hardcore vijay fan myself I was very disappointed with the outcome ! the story is all about 'sundar'an NRI who is the ceo of a very big corporate firm comes to india to cast his vote on the assembly election day, just to find out that is vote has been already cast by someone else . deeply frustrated, how sundar destroys the politicians and the corrupt system through his policies and quickthinking and helps creating a YOUTH sarkar is the remaining story. thuppakki and kaththi were huge blockbusters by vijay and a.r.m combo, however sarkar has a slow pace and dull screenplay with misplaced songs. sarkar is a one man show , vijay steals the limelight on dance, fight and acting with a different and never seen before attitude . heroine keerthy suresh is just a commercial element who always seen following vijay , where ever he goes. radharavi and karupiayya have played the negative characters really well. varalakshmi sarath kumar as the politician's daughter fails to impress the audience with her character. music asusual is mindblowing by ar.rahman, bgm could have had many varites is what audience feel.cinematography is handled by girish gangadgaran , which is his first film in tamil that too a huge one. he has captured this movie as a documentary rather than a commercial one. another disadvantage is it has many logical loopholes and over the top action sequences. the director has put some limelight on section 49 B which most of the people dosen't know the law exist ! overall the movie has a great message but lacks the punch of kaththi and thuppaki .
