My fiancé was constantly harassing me to take her to this restaurant. Since Sadashiv Nagar is pretty far from where we stay I kept ignoring her but on her birthday I had to give in.
I was expecting too much grandiose and a commercialized version of traditional fare. But thankfully I was proven wrong. Sattvam though grand and luxurious is seeped in tradition. They have successfully maintained the fine balance between class and Indian traditions.
Even though the buffet was mesmerizing we wanted a customized meal for the special occasion. My fiancé called for concoction of orange and tamarind called Orange Imlana. It was tangy and refreshing.
For the starters, we called for Haribhari Paneer Taktakai which is Paneer rolled with green peas and coated with yogurt and Chappati Kesari Badam Tikki which is Chenna tikkis coated with a mixture of saffron and almond and served with a gooseberry dip. The paneer was was succulently soft and the tikki was chatpati as promised.
For the mains, we called for the Paneer Pyaari Patti and Amritas ke kofte. The Paneer Pyaari was doused with dill leaves and was excellent. The Amritas ke kofte had paneer and pea koftas floating on a graving it was extremely good as well.
It was a wonderful experience at Sattvam and we are planning to come back here very soon .
