Hmmm how can I put it while being nice, I cant, I simply cant, I travel a lot on domestic flights for business, you could say I took more than 100 domestic flights(forcefuly) and I have had unbelievably horrific stories regarding saudi airlines, let me mention the pros firstoff:
1. maintenance seems ok id give it 4/5, I have sat on 4 broken seats with no help from attendants, otherwise bathrooms are generally clean and vabin seems ok
2. food is usually clean and utensils are ok, but you you usually dont get much food on domestic flights
3. never had a problem with baggage, except maybe once when I found my items falling out of the bag on the conveyor at my destination, but to be fair, my bag was faulty
4. pilots seem well trained and know what theyre doing
Now the cons, where do I start, let me just mention the basics:
1. improperly trained desk clerks or flight crew: usually meals are offered as "chicken? or beef?" and good luck trying to get more information from the attendant on whther it has rice or vegetables or is cooked with sauce or grilled or whatever, theyre only prepared for one answer only "Chicken! or Beef!" and the desk clerks were so amused at the fact that one printout could refer to 2 tickets one for my wife and the other for my baby daughter, it took them more than 15 minutes to get it
2. NO CUSTOMER SUPPORT! Good luck trying to reach them, I tried writing 3 complaint letters and ropped them off at the desk, through email and over the phone and no reply was received whatsoever, just lately they added an email and phone number they constantly ignore.so great help
3. This whole ladies switching places on the plane is so frustrating, you could end up losing your seat and standing for more than 30 minutes holding your luggage as a lady occupies your chair and the cabin crew shrug their shoulders
4. Announcements for late flights do not appologize for the delay but tend to TELL YOU thats if youre lucky, sometimes you have to run around the airport trying to catch one of their employees to get such information, and he may give you the wrong info
5. The waiting section is the ultimate test of your physical abilities to jump, yell, push and leap.no organization whatsoever, very bad condition, no seats, no information, and irresponsible clerks.i once waited for more than 4 hours just so that the nice clerk would come and tear the list that has my name infront of me and through the available tickets in the air for people to catch
6. Information screens may be very deceptful, and usually flights are announced by shouting employees standing infront of the boarding gates, as passengers run towards them in anguish and frustration, a lot of times the employee would just say ah! no! its another gate so you need to carry all your luggage and run to the other side of the airport
.i could go on and on and on. the bottom line is that.if I had another choice I would definitely take it.sama and nas are just panzies.their flights are limited and at awkward times .so nothing changed .now I usually drive from Dammam to Ride instead of taking saudi airlines(i made this choice) and forcefully and bitterly take the flight to places like jeddah
