Savitribai Phule Pune University(Previously known as Pune University) is one of the renowned and one of the first few successfully established Universities in Maharashtra.
Academic Programs-
The courses for Engineering branch(Which I am currently studying) are not well designed. The courses keep on changing constantly every year with subtle changes. The study pattern is vastly scoped and has been tried to shrink into the four years of Engineering. The study course of every semester of 5 months duration is equivalent to the study course of a 10 month course for any other university. Every year students complain from not being able to cope up with the vast and sort of off topic syllabus(Especially the First Year Syllabus).
Administration-
Administration wise, every year there are cases of paper leaks for every theory exam and copy cases for both online and offline examinations. There is no proper communication of the University with the colleges and vice-versa. Due to the carelessness shown by the University itself, the colleges show negligence in the administration regard.
Extra Curricular Programs-
The extra curricular activities organised by the University are not so good. The fact that the University is working on improving this sector is appreciated but still the lack of focus towards other factors is just unacceptable.
Future Scope- The progress of the University is slowing down a bit. The administration should really work on improving the factors I have listed. This is a renowned University and has a lot of scope for improvement which would lead to a better future of the students passing out from this’Library of Knowledge’!
