I am not an avid reader of any of these magazines but I came across these as an occupational hazard. I work with an ad agency and therefore I have to browse through these magazines.
Coming back to Savvy, the magazine has very little to offer for the woman and a LOT to offer to the men. The June issue has at least 10 pages dedicated to the scantily dressed Mallika Sherawat who cannot be contained in her clothes (now why would this appeal to women?? is beyond me). It speaks of her fighting spirit and all.. which is cool and very informative (tolerable).
Moving on the next 20 pages are dedicated to the men we love!!! which include the usual names, rahul dravid, sanjiv kapoor, narayan murthy!!! etc.. These pages are followed by some colorful ads, a couple of self help tests (to find out what kind of a worker u are!!! )
This edition also has a write up on the male G-spot. There has been a lot of study that has been done (or at least they make u believe that) on the article. The article ends with Prahlad Kakkad talking about Richard Gere in a very bizarre situtation!!! The article on the whole is very bizarre and not informative at all...
The cover flaunts Mallika Sherawat in a pink outfit against an even more pink background (probably to symbolize feminism??) jeez...
There is also an article on how Sonia Gandhi was given Goddess status because of all the bashing dished out by NDA. This article is stashed in some corner on some obscure page.
Then there are the normal Question answer sections and Future predictions by the sun signs, star signs and god knows what!!!!
On the whole, very poor reading material for women who can think (by that I mean the average indian women), lotsa eye candy (this is why it will sell among men) and very colorful pages...
Id say you can safely ingore this magazine.. cheers chutzpah
