I have been with this card for around a year. It is a torture to own a SBI Card. I will give you some reasons for my hatred for this card:
Their statement never arrives on time. Even if you call their call center and request them, they will promise but most of the time it is not delivered to you in time.
They do not have a drop box facility in Mumbai. They will SMS you about a pending payment near the due date. Then somebody from the collection department will call you about the payment. When you inform that the statement has not reached me, the standard reply is that they will send their man to collect the payment. Initially you tyhink that the system is so good that they send their man to collect their payment. In the next bill you will realise that you have been charged Rs.29.50 as pick up charges.
I called up the call center to let me know their drop box locations in Mumbai, They told me that they do not have any. They even do not have a address in Mumbai where I can send my cheques! The one they print on the statement is a PO box address in Delhi!
Their collection staff is extremely rude, unprofessional and totally untrained. They will first call yon n number of times to remind you of the due date of payment then they will call you n number of times to inform you that the payment has been recieved. SUCH PAIN.
I also have Citibank card, so I can compare the service levels. Citibak cards too have issues with them, but not like SBI Card. SBI Card is a ultinmate in torture. When you tell them that the payment has already been sent by post to the PO Box number given on the statement, they will ask you, have you sent cash or cheque. !!!!!!. Imagine somebody can ask you such a stupid quetion. Then I said that it is a cheque.
My suggestion: Avoid the card to the extent possible. Their net bannking is also wierd. It warns visitors not to hack the website!!! Never heard of this kind of warning anywhere else.
