A Great Maeve Binchy Novel!

Maeve Binchy’s latest novel ’’Scarlet Feather’’ is as gripping and full of life as her previous books. The plot moves quickly and keeps you interested. The characters are human and believable.

The plot:

Two cooking school friends, Cathy Scarlet and Tom Feather, open a new catering company called Scarlet Feather. The struggle to make their new business a success.

They seem to be thwarted though by a cast of characters including a disapproving mother-in-law, disappointed parents, troublesome foster children and a nephew who has ’’debts’’ and steals from the company.

They do get off to a good start, however, and it seems the business will be a success. In the meantime, Cathy’s marriage begins to fall apart and Tom’s girlfriend seems to be moving away from him.

The are determined to succeed despite the troublesome relatives, a wedding to plan and their personal relationships.

The ending seemed to work out a little too conveniently but, all in all, the novel was well-written and peaked my interest.

I highly recommend the novel to anyone who likes a little romance and a little suspense
