We booked Sea bird for our round trip between Bangalore and Goa. During our onward journey, the bus got delayed by more than 4 hours due to supposed **"traffic + bus breakdown even before it started from the garage".**
Our boarding was scheduled at 6:45 and we arrived at around 6:30 to the stop. Around 7, when we called the number given to us, we were informed that a volvo bus will arrive in about 15-20 mins. We were not informed even on asking whether a pick up bus will arrive or the actual bus. A small tattered vehicle finally arrived, after beating all the traffic around it, at around 8 PM and the driver just parked it aside and sat down. Then a volvo destined to some other place arrived and all people were shifted into it.
We were dropped at Anand Rao circle at arnd 8:45 PM. We got our tickets printed and were shocked to see the departure time printed as 10 PM, since as per SMS the bus would reach Navrang circle at 9 PM, where few more people from our family were waiting. People sitting in the stinky head office are just a bunch of liars who have mastered inventing every possible reason for delay in departure. After waiting for hours sitting in that stinky place and almost on the road, the sleeper bus arrived at around 11 PM.
Journey inside the sleeper bus was another story in itself with smelly blankets, unclean bed sheets, no proper stops and helper himself was soundly sleeping while the whole bus specially the upper berths shook violently. After repeated requests to stop, people were forced to do public urination. We finally reached Goa around 12PM instead of scheduled 9 AM.
Return journey was no fairy tale, with bad suspensions combined by rash driving and people without tickets sleeping all over the narrow pathway and under the seats. Only consolation was they maintained time during the return journey and it seems they washed the blankets.
And, if you want to charge your device, do it before you board the bus, for the sockets they have are just for enhancing the sea-bird’s beauty.
