Not For Sweltering Temps

I buy Secret deodorant the majority of the time, primarily because it works well and is one of the least expensive brands of deodorants. Some of the reasons I like it are:

  1. An old standby

I first used Secret as a teenager and I’m in my 50s so it’s been around a long time.

  1. It’s carried in almost any store that carries deodorants and it’s usually one of the least expensive brands.

  2. Secret is often on sale and sometimes there are coupons for it. I don’t use coupons very often but do try to wait to buy it when it’s on sale and buy two at a time.

  3. It comes in several different forms and scents.

It’s available in roll on, spray and stick. I have tried all three but only buy the stick now. I don’t like to use any kind of aerosol because of environmental issues and sprays are not as easy to pack or transport as stick or roll-ons. I feel that the stick keeps me drier than a roll-on and seems to last longer.

I prefer the baby powder scent deodorant. However, I work in the nursing department of a university that has a clean air policy. Employees are encouraged to forgo perfumes or any scented personal items out of consideration for those who are allergic to scents of any types. Therefore, I usually buy the non-scented form of Secret.

  1. Under most conditions, Secret works for me, keeping me dry and not having to worry about my deodorant failing me.

  2. Attractive pastel-colored packaging that fits well into a bathroom medicine chest as well as a small bag for traveling.

Overall I like Secret; however, it’s not totally reliable in extremely hot weather. I’m originally from Texas where summer temperatures can stay over a hundred degrees for long periods of time and the humidity is often very uncomfortable in the central and southern part of the state, such as in Houston and Austin. In high humidity and sweltering temperatures, I’ve found that Secret just couldn’t keep me dry so that’s when I switch to an anti-perspirant that keeps one from perspiring as much, such as Mitchum products.

I would recommend giving Secret a try. It may not be the best product for all conditions but it can work quite well in many cases.
