Unbelievably funny

I had to read this book for school. The language written by Adrian is not very difficult and my teacher said it was a very funny book.

Before I read this book, I thought you couldn’t laugh with books because you don’t see anything. But after reading the first 20 pages, I had to adjust my opinion. What it exactly makes so funny, is difficult to explain. It might be Adrian Mole’s recognizable situation, his wrong interpretations or his stupidity.

I’d rather think it is a mix of these elements. It is a diary, so you experience everything Adrian Mole experiences. It’s like you are in the same body and you hear, see everything the same but you interpret it differently and that distinguishes it from other books.

The style used by Sue Townsend reads promptly and although the main goal of this book is to make you laughing, it also has a clear message, I think. You should never give up, even if your parents divorce and they don’t want you anymore, even if your family has financial problems, etc.

I can’t suggest you other titles because I haven’t read other titles of this author yet. I will test if the other books are as good as and as funny as this one.
