Today I watched secret superstar after a long time, though it got released with Golmal again, but still managed to gain the publicity by word of mouth. Love the concept of a singer who doesn’t want to reveal her identity due to a orthodox and narrow minded father plus he is a abusive husband.
So the story revolves around the a school going girl played by Zaira wasim(Insu) living in Vadodra with his over strict father and a supportive mother & yes a cute & a over smart brother. She dream to be a famous singer and will get nominated for best singer award in the near future. A story about a rebellious girl who wants to achieve her dream of singing by having a guitar in hand. She wants to take part in inter-school singing competition but it also go in vain,
By looking her passion for music her mother gifts her a laptop to gain the knowledge around the world and from there her journey started as a secret superstar wearing a traditional veil and having guitar in her hand. Till now story looks interesting but wait now comes the climax, her abusive father got a job in Riyad(Saudi Arabia) and their family needs to shift. This incident shatter Insu who dream to be a singing sensation and on one fine day she decides to run off and meet Shakti kumar(A selfproclaim singer agent) played by Amir Khan who is going through bad phase in his personal and professional life but a kind soul.
Now Insu landed up in Mumbai by the help of chintan(a so called bf) and record her first song, and even seeks help from shakti kumar to make a thin line of separation by divorcing her parents. But Inshu realized how her mother sacrificed her happiness to give her birth and gradually she accept her mothers proposal to settle down in Saudi Arabia.
While boarding the flight her mother Nazia, got sudden break of feminism and she realized that what’s her daughter dream and leave her abusive husband awestruck in the airport.
