Well, here I am....reviewing another Rammstein album....or shud I say another brilliant rammstein album!!
I can announce wid all my heart tht they are at it again....the manic bass guitars are shaking the stages around berlin and the world!!
Unfortunately, i havent been able to procure this album from shelf...but my manic search made me go for unsavoury means to procure the songs...though I would not elaborate on how I managed to get those songs but yes currently they are stacked up in my computer, my music player..everywhere...such is the lasting value of this record that even after 2 years I keep longing for it...yeah thats wot sensucht means !!
Well, lets get back to what we came looking here for...the album that is...
And it kicks of wid the military spec self titled song sensucht....which is the highlight of the whole album...i must say, that all the other songs in the album, though brilliant, simply try hard to keep up with this song...such is its influence!!
Then comes the haunting whistle in engel which is aptly backed by Till lindemanns hard hitting vocals...an that voice sounds uncommon...but its very uncommoness is Tills forte..
Then comes tier....its about the animal....and the bass makes you feel like an animal...make you shake ur head like a bull!!Its at this point that you are served to the masochistic, Bestrafe mich or punish me...here again Lindemanns rolling accent aping Hitler works great....infact there is a pun song sung by some crazy guy on the beats of Sonne (from mutter) with the lyrics changed and it goes like yeah im hitler in place of hier kommt die sonne!! Bestrafe mich is also one of my favourites from the album..
And then we have the quintessential hit which needs no review...Du hast....personally I didnt like it that much when I heard it first..it simply seemed like a fast disco beat number...but over the time it somehow grew on me... but I still like sensucht more than du hast...maybe thats just me!!
Buck dich(bend down) is again heavy and the bass is over the top here!!great number for thrashing some neighbourhood glasses!!
Compared to the other numbers, spiel mit mir is somehow a let down...but again its just that the likes of sensucht and du hast is hard to emulate..otherwise its a good number on its own..
Next comes the wicked Klavier....it starts ever so slowly..but all of a sudden bursts out so loud with lindemann putting his vocal chords to good use...then again the decibels fall..this high and low is quiet addictive and if heard for the first time, can almost spring you from your couch!!
When you somehow come out of the mental ordeal(this ordeal is addictive!!) you are exposed to Alter mann...this was the first song I heard from this album, unfortunately it didnt do very well compared to Sensucht and Du hast but its one ofmy first favourites from this album and I still love it...the bass guitars simply grow on you and you cannot help your hands from imitating a guitarist...strumming chords of an invisible guitar!!
My recommendations..youll definitely like this number!!
Somehow I havent been able to get hold of the last two songs..so cant say much about them, but going by the overall look of the album, they surell rock!!
All in all a must have for a Rammstein fan....and for some more!!
Caayotee out.
