Around the time that it became obvious that themestream (the goose that laid the golden egg) was dying, I went looking around for other onlines.
ABC is one I found and I particularly like it. Not saying that just because they picked my work for Cherries often. It just like the site. There’s a lot of stuff to read and you can get some of the members to have decent conversation with you.
You do not get paid for posting your work there, but if they choose you for a publication of theirs, then you get paid 25 pounds - excuse me - I don’t know where the ’pounds’ sign is on my keyboard - anybody know?
Something I don’t like about the site is the forums - although I’m using them a lot, the people there are very aggravating. The editors do not monitor what’s said and they don’t take anything out either.
When a half-way decent post gets started on a subject, there are about five members that come into it with inane remarks - they are very insulting people and although I doubt anyone really takes them seriously, it is aggravating.
It is worth look at though - you’ll find a lot of good writers there.
Including me - well, of course. but I’ll let you be the judge of that - look for Svamvour - or look for Wild City Woman and have a look at my work.
I do want you to try the website though - especially if you are a writer.
