Destruction of our civilization

On behalf of several members of the community, I would like to express my shock and disappointment at some of Ms. Ekta Kapoor’s serials. By way of introduction, let me just say that some people think I’m exaggerating when I say that unravelling the Gordian Knot that is Ekta is not difficult when you realize the multifaceted nature of Ekta and her cult followers.

But I’m not exaggerating; if anything, I’m understating the situation. There is a format she should follow for her next literary endeavor. It involves a topic sentence and supporting facts. In retrospect, Ekta has always been more insufferable than most passive-aggressive carpers. Spawn a society in which those with the most deviant lifestyle, improvident behavior, or personal failures are given the most by the government if you like, Ekta, because I simply don’t care. Do you really want her to promote racial superiority doctrines, ethnic persecution, imperialist expansion, and genocide? I think not.

I have a hard time trying to reason with people who remain calm when they see Ekta repeat the mistakes of the past. As the oft-repeated saying goes, ’’Ekta’s protests are propaganda to the point of comedy and are so easily refuted as to render them useless even as such’’. The importance of that saying is that it reminds us that Ekta’s lies come in many forms. Some of her lies are in the form of cajoler. Others are in the form of arguments. Still more are in the form of folksy posturing and pretended concern and compassion. Moving on, if I seem a bit cranky, it’s only because I’m trying to communicate with Ekta on her own level. I wish that some of her apologists would ask themselves, ’’Why am I helping her cause people to betray one another and hate one another?’’ Perhaps she received her information (or rather, misinformation) from late-night television programs and ’’B’’ movies.

Given the baleful political rhetoric of our times, Ekta’s whole approach is oligophrenic. As an interesting experiment, try to point this out to her. (You might want to don safety equipment first.) I think you’ll find that defeatism is a drossy, wicked witch, cloaking herself as social virtue and brotherly love. Well, that’s a bit too general of a statement to have much meaning, I’m afraid. So let me instead explain my point as follows: Ekta is hell-bent on suppressing our freedom. But there is a further-reaching implication: If we take her orations to their logical conclusion, we see that before long, she will use scapegoating as a foil to draw anger away from more accurate targets. Griping about Ekta will not make her stop trying to turn once-flourishing neighborhoods into zones of violence, decay, and moral disregard. But even if it did, she would just find some other way to till the unbridled side of the antinomianism garden. She thinks it would be a great idea to convince others that bestial skinheads are the ’’chosen people’’ of scriptural prophecy. Even if we overlook the logistical impossibilities of such an idea, the underlying premise is still flawed. Let me end by saying that I know that what I have written in this review will send many readers (especially any who are big fans of Ms. Ekta Kapoor) into a tizzy or a tantrum. I am sorry, but I remind them that Ekta invents problems in order to provide herself with an excuse for making a fuss.
