Sony Max was launched in December 1999 by Sony Picture Networks . It is one of the most popular movie channels of India. Besides showing movies it also telecasts live one of the biggest Cricket Tournaments of India " Indian Premier League ". It’s popularity gained a different level after it started telecasting live matches of Indian Premier League.Besides being quiet popular it also enjoys a huge amount of TRP ratings during this IPL matches which shows it’s high revenue earnings.The set most channels are part of the Sony Entertainment Channel group, which is a Hindi movie based channel and aired 24 hours.And this is an old channel I see but entertainment value is zero in this channel and they only show old and boring movies all the time and especially they often promote the Suryavanasham movie because they have the right to broadcast the Suryavanasham movie for 100 years.And each channel is broadcast twice on this channel because if they watch a movie for up to 15 minutes, it advertises for 15 or 20 minutes and can spend twice as much time on any movie.And Max also broadcast Indian cricket team cricket matches for many years and has the right to all matches of the Cricket World Cup 1999 and broadcast all matches live during the World Cup.And it was also the promotion of the Indian Premier League( IPL) until the last years.But the only cricket match was Max’s eventAnd now a days set Max is an entertainment channel.
