I was longing to take a DVD subscription from some time now, but didn’t find any good services around. Madhouse has been there, but my colleagues haven’t given any good feedback about it. I am talking about NCR region.First day I got an advertisement in newspaper regarding SeventyMM and I contacted them. Hearing the details, I was impressed. I was even told that ABN Amro Credit Card customers need not pay any security or other initial charges, just start from monthly charges. this option sounded lucrative as I didn’t have much to lose. After around a week, today I finally took the subscription.
Now here starts the story - The sales manager turned up with a registration form and I was about to fill the form, just then I noticed something very strange. In the credit card section, along with other CC details, there was a place where I was supposed to enter my CVV number. This really shocked me, there is no way anyone could give the entire details of credit card in writing to somebody and CVV number too!!! When I asked the sales mgr, he himself agreed that it is not safe to do so, but said people have been giving those (yeah right!!! I believe you..) I told him that I can pay by check and you can take photocopy of card. he said, to avail offer, CC details need to be there.
Anyways moving on, we agreed that I create an account online and so did i. Things went well for now, I created my personal movie queue and everything. Just then it occurred me to check with ABN Amro CC people, if they have any such offers running. And somehow I wasn’t surprised to hear that they were not even aware of what Seventymm is!! Now I was really doubting, whether I have given away my details to some fraudsters (details are still to come out, lets see in few days how things shape up)Its been 4 hours now and I haven’t received even a single mail, regarding creation of account.
I tried contacting the 70MM customer care but nobody seems to be available in night. So in despair I logged in MS and voila!!, at least the site seems genuine from here.This is the story till date, will keep MS posted on updates
