The reason I was completely addicted to the television series because I found the friendship Carrie, Charlotte, Miranda and Sam shared very touching and enviable. Thankfully the film didnot dissapoint on this count, as their friendship grew and matured beautifully. The lives of these women were full of joy and pain but their friendship survived. Some difficult issues like infidelity and heartbreak were introduced and managed skillfully.
I felt the film was an improvement on the TV series as we were able to embark on a journey with these women and watch them acheive their goals, rather than just watch an hour and then have to wait for a week for the next episode. The film is a celebration of female friendships and those of us who are lucky enough to have similar female friends can relate to the bond these girls shared. At least there was no fairy tale ending and the characters had to evolve, change and accept failure before things got better.
I really enjoyed watching this film and found myself gettting misty eyed at certain scenes, esp the one when Charlotte feel terrified to be happy as all her friends have had such bad luck!! Carrie’s relationship with her assistant is also a pleasure to watch, Louise is a breath of fresh air ! It was a visual treat and I’d ask all women to take a good friend along and watch this film!
