Awesome comedy drama..

In an era of computers and dot coms, here’s a play with a title that seems to gel well with present day context... Shaadi@Barbaadi.com. A catchy title..! Dont you think? The line seems somewhat familiar, specially for those already married..haha. I was really curious and looking forward to watching this play. It seemed like a entertaining play with a ’post marriage blues’ kind of concept. It has none other than the creative and talented actor Paresh Rawal and his equally talented wife Swaroop Sampat. Well, guess what? I was right. This was thoroughly enjoyable and realistic play which had me rolling with laughter right from the beginning to the end.

It starts off with a simple Gujrati middleclass boy, Mahesh doodhwala who is a very sissy man and his mothers pet. He meets this girl Monica (Swaroop Sampat) at the bus stop and a series of comic scenes follow in an attempt to woo her. Finally they are married. After that, the usual saas-bahu arguments start and amidst all this the poor men in the family are mere frustrated bystanders witnessing every little sarcastic comment between the 2 women. It was hilarious to watch these wonderfully enacted scenes. The best part about the play was the fact that one could easily relate to the characters, the story idea and the situations. Ofcourse the acting was superb by every one. Paresh Rawal was excellent. And though it was a whole 3 hours play it manages to keep you glued and laughing. The climax was particularly sweet..

I loved every minute of it and if this play happens to be in your town, dont miss it!
