The vital question that crosses your mind after watching Shaadi Se Pehle is, does it deliver?Yes!Wait, it is not that perfect film, for it has its share of deficiencies. But notwithstanding the blemishes, Shaadi Se Pehle still works because it adheres to the indispensable Bollywood formula of romance, comic situations songs, a cheerful conclusion and most significantly, hilarious moments that you carry back home.
Thematically it is about a hypochondriac Ashish Khanna (Akshayee Khanna) who wants to call of engagement with his lady love Rani (Ayesha Takia) on a mistaken impression that he is suffering from cancer.
He decides to paint himself the villain by getting involved with a sexy siren Sania (Mailika). Sania as luck would have it is the sis of underworld don Anna (Sunil Shetty)....
There is also Rohit (Aftab Shivdasani) who loves Rani and is willing to take the short route to her heart or what ever.
SSP rises to the occasion and delivers what it promises: laughter and entertainment. Lacing the film with bizarre incidents , the film lives up to the tag of timepass entertainment that is the mantra of an average cinegoer.
A few sequences in the first half and a few moments in the second half are the best part of the enterprise.
Akshay Khanna is a complete natural. Ayesha shows vast improvement over her first film. Mallika does really get much scope to exhibit histrionics. Rajpal has done very well. Boman is efficient.
