Eating at SHALIMAR is truly a royal experience. The food is really MUGHLAI and comes as a refreshing change in this era of Chinese and fast food. The service is good, the interiors are quite decent and the food comes hot and nicely served in clean dishes and plates. In short if yu are not looking out for something totally 5 star and not too choosy about the area, then its the ideal spot for good food lovers. The display of different kebabs and tandoors on the rods is itself mouth watering. Coming to the main point, the speciality at SHALIMAR is RAANG--- complete leg of a goat, roasted and served either with rich gravy(Raang masala), or biryani(Raang biryani), or Tandoor raang, or with chinese fried rice. The pricing is reasonable, i.e. from Rs.350 appx for tandoor raang to Rs.450-500 for the others, seeing that one raang dish can be cherished by 4-5 heavy eaters or 7-8 light eaters. The kebabs are also big sized and come tender and tasty. the menu gives an indication of spicy and very spicy dishes by way of small icons of single or double red chillies. For a truly mughlai experience you got to try it out once.
