Chop Suey...

Chop Suey? im guessing your thinking about chinese food and drooling all over the screen.well dont its sick.Chop Suey is what Jackie Chan describes his fighting on an interview with HBO.from low rated chinese movies Jackie Chan made his way from HongKong to the west to star in big blockbuster hollywood martial arts movies.this became a really popular thanks to the famous Bruce Lee.Out of all the Jackie Chan movies I have seen they are always have the fancy martial arts moves with comedy mixed with them.i guess making him one of the most popular karate chop actor in the business. even though the language barrier does set in Jackie Chan is able to make a calm , fun and easy atmosphere for both the actors and the crew.but most of all great movies for all of us to watch.

THE CAST-

Chon Wang-Jackie Chan

Nelson Rathbone-Aidan Gillen

Chon Lin-Fann Wong(Chon Wang’s sister in the movie not to mention good looking).

Roy O’Bannon-Owen Wilson(chon Wang’s friend and side kick).

Wu Chow-Donnie Yen

THE MOVIE-

ok the movie first starts of in china in a place called the forbidden city.here china’s bravest and most honoured warriors and trained to safe guard the ruler who I think is just twelve years old.Kim Chan who is Chon wang’s father is the keeper of the imperial seal.the imperial seal is massive diamond which basically is like the scepter of the king showing the the king’s power over his subjects and the sign of a ruler.while locking it away the place where the seal is kept is raided by Nelson Rathbone a member of parliment in the house of commons in London.Nelson Rathbone along with his accomplices succesfully steals the imperial seal and at the same time kills Kim Chan.now Chon Wang’s sister Chon Lin has witnessed the murder and follows Rathbone back to london to seak revenge and to recover the seal.

meanwhile in a town in texas the new sheriff called the Shanghai Kid who is Chon Wang himself gets the message about his father.now he has to make his way to london to help his sister.but the money and the gold they had acquired in the previous movie has been kept with Roy o’Bannon. He now works in a five star hotel as a waiter as he has already sqaundered all the money they had got earlier.on reaching there Chon Wang finds out to what his friend had done with the money.after being calmed down they make their way to london to begin their next adventure.

the seal had been taken by Rathbone who was going to hand it over to Wu Chow a warrior exiled from the forbidden city.Wu Chow would hold china to ransom for it and in exchange for the seal Wu chow would assasinate the queen of england so that Rathbone would be the next succesor to the throne.Chon Wang and Roy O’bannon now make their way to london where the adventure begins.

COMEDY-

this is the reason for the popularity of Jackie Chan movies.Jackie Chan is able to combine graceful and exhilirating fight sequences and comedy to bring out laughter and suspense at the same time.the laughter starts when the duo land in london.Roy o’bannon being one of the worst cowboys ever, bring’s out the comedy in an attempt to try and adjust to the way of life in england.while Owen Wilson does it with his dialogues Jackie Chan does it with his fighting and action.both are combined in the movie to give you great comedy.comedy mixed with action I think is a great combination.not only are you laughing at the bumps and falls with the action but also at the dialogues of the two actors.

Comedy is also shown when the two screw ups try to get out sticky situations.Roy O’bannon is the character to be highlighted in these parts of the movie.Roy O’bannon also makes fun of the english in many ways.sorry ya’ll but I found them funny.

ACTION-

want good fight seqeunces and action with good punches, quick , mind blowing blocks and quick kicks.ask Jackie Chan he will show you all of it.Jackie Chan has always had a good time been the stunt co-ordinator and is recognized for it.watch some of his movies and you will see why.Jackie Chan has the ability to creat stunt sequences on the spot and is succesful at it most of the time.

the one thing I like about martial arts is ability of the fighters to pick up almost anything as use it as a weapon.amazing right.

THE ORACLE SPEAKS-

what does the oracle have to say about the movie?

its great and a must see movie.it has everything from fights , comedy, drama and the rest of it to make it a great movie.the suspense and the action will keep you at the edge of your seats and the comedy will have you holding your stomach.the movie is a good family movie and can be enjoyed by people of all ages.
