Located in sasaram, it is the pride of the city. Shershah was a very successful emperor. And the monument is the place where he sleeped inside earth forever. The historical value of the place is great.
The view of the tomb can be seen from anywhere in the city. And that attracts the people to explore. You can reach very easily from all part of the city it is very close to railway station and bus station and eaaily a means can be taken. Also sasaram is very well connected to most of the cities with indian railway. The nearest international airport is Gaya or Varanasi ( 130kms) .
When you reach the place. You will see the whole view of the tomb. You will need to buy a ticket which is of Rs 10.
Now you are ready to explore and know everything about this great marvel.
The view is itself mesmerizing.
You will see the domb of tomb with its complete structure standing with pride on a plaform surrounded by water. The tomb is connected by a beauutiful pasage witg peripheral road.
Just enter the main door and you will experience completely mesmerizing view of the tomb and the passage.
The view will pull you inside it. Now walk on the paaaage to reach the main structure. And you can see water all around.
The main building is a large dome in which there are graves of respected Shwr shah suri and his family members.
When you will go inside it is very cool. And you can see the inner height of the dome which is very high. The inner part also produce echoes of your voice.
Entire campus is built in the style of islamic and afghan architecture.
Adding these it can be said that it was a marvel made for the greatest ruler and has great importance.
Coming to the maintainance. There is an Archeological survey of india’s office just beside the campus but I have never seen them working I think that is only for selling tickets and collecting money.
The tomb has become so dirty. The stairs to go to upper floors are now closed. The water is so polluted that itis green in colour and you can see froth coming out at many places. And algaes rule over entire lake. Water smells so bad that no one can tolerate.
However now a days the smell problem has decreased considerably.
But you should only visit if you can feel history
