After giving a magnificant movie like Sarfarosh one would realy expect that class to be retained by the director. In fact I was quit eager to watch this movie.I saw it in thakur cinema on second day itself. Alas it was a huge disappointment for me.
well to start with if you look at it its the same story of a rich guy going to lengths to acheive his objective not withstanding any social moral values.the story is based on a builder that is ajay who has risen high in just 6vyrs converting thousands into crores. He has this dream of creating his own city with the latest amenities like amusement park, casino etc. One teacher in some rishi van is a major hurdle for him since he is against the removal of tribals and setting a city where he has dreamt of largescale plantations.
so Mr.Rich finds out his weakness in son shahid who is shown to be easily influencable by just anybody.so after spending lot of money and getting into vises like smoking and drinkng(which is a strict NO NO in gurujis (his fathers)rishi van shahid is convinced that ajay shud go for his city and that his father is causing him undue trouble.so the later part is about how shahid realises his mistake and ajays shrewdness and comes back with revenge.
Definitely the topic which has been indirectly dealt with of migration of people from rural area to urban after selling off their land touched current affairs but the one gets a feeling that this is some kind of documentary on plantation and its benefits while watching this movie.
Definitely not the class of sarfarosh. The performances of shahid, amrita and the guru are not upto the mark. Infact at lot of times Amrita rao has done lot of overacting.bipasha doesnt have much work except seducing shahid for making ajay happy(whcih eventually doesnt turn out right).
songs are also nt that good except for the title track by jagjit singh.so if you really dont have any choice and want to se a movie on social cause you can go for it .But if you are going for sheer entertainment you can really avoid it.
