Best film ever I really do not think so, mother India was more of an amazing film it was good cinema with great performances. Back then the filmfare awards sholay did not win much? why do you ask? because it was not good cinema, it was a normal movie back then as time went on the dilogs got bigger and better then became a huge hit! sholay to me is overrated. The performances was not so great I like amitji better in deewar here he was a tree. Except for his dying scene, dhamendra in my view hammed big time and over acted. Hema maline did okay and jaya was a tree yet again.
I would say its a good westurn film but I seen better from clint eastwood so I rank this below it as corney. amjad khan (Ghabar) was mindblowing as the bad guy I must say he did amazing his best performance in my view. The story was nothing new, I saw ot back in 1990 on vhs this movie everyone was telling me way before hand it was a really good film maybe with high expectations I expected more but I was disappointed..sorry people sholay did not touch me like it touched millions across the world..
