I must accept that I am a lazy bum and for me shopping online is the easiest way to shop, have tried so many different sites to order one or other things right from day-today toiletries to expensive watches to clothing and electronics, and since I am in mood to review my purchases made online, you’ll be seeing me quite often with Pros and cons of some e-comms in India.
To start with I wanted to review my favorite shopping site – SHOPCLUES.COM – I am simply in love with the site and everything about it and have received appreciation for everyone I recommended too. I have no doubt about it after seeing their Facebook Page – Unbelievable 300k+ fans for a ecomm that is barely 6month old kind in the industry. Surely Shopclues is here to give competition to some veterans in the industry (read – flipkart, ebay and other giants)… Though I believe there are a few areas that shopclues needs to be really gear up to beat the rest, Anyways….so here I go with my review on certain import ant aspects for an online shopper -
Products
As a Marketplace, shopclues has done fairly good job of listing a variety of products under one roof, I could see some really good products direct from the Factory/Manufactures (Read Kent Products, Jaipan Products & so on) at the same time it has listing from NGOs and handicraft artisans. For me, it s like visiting Sarojini Market & Ambiance Mall at the same time that too without walking even a step. The Products are backed by manufacturer Warranties , which are of utmost importance when buying online. In my Almost 10 Purchases from the site I have 9 Superb experiences and only in one case the product was damaged in transit (will let you know the experience in detail in my later point)…Overall 4.5/5 for products on the Site.
Pricing/Deals
As per my observations from various site and a habit of comparison shopping can very safely say that prices on the site are fairly competitive and in some cases they even challenge offline market (read – Bike Accessories and cosmetics accessories). Some deals on the site have left me looking for the logics behind the pricing (Read Rs 18 for Deodorants and Mosquito repellents at your doorstep) even I was not sure of the product quality and even of receiving it , have seen Seventymm.com coming up with lucrative offers and then never delivering products – But on Contrast I Received the products from deals and well before expected time…. I n all 4/5 for Prices and 5/5 for deals. Great Job!
Product Packing and Delivery
I am a huge fan of the way things are packed by Shopclues, manufacturer packing packed in a special big box with adequate fillers for keeping the packed product safe. Most of the time I received the product before I expected it to arrive and always through Blue Dart courier in good condition. I’ll rate the Packing and Delivery 4.5/5 fairly good job on that front.
After-sale Services
In case of Shopclues, I hardly had to call them or bug them for some aftersale services, it was only one odd instance where I received a damaged product – it was a broken iron that I chose to get replaced from Shopclues, inspite having manufacturer’s warranty ( I told you, I am a lazy bum :P) had to write just once to them with some pictures of damaged product and I got a call from a guy, don’t remember the name, but he was quite good to talk to and he gave me his personal no. as well so that I can contact him if I face any issue.. but I never felt the need – the product was quickly picked and replaced. Never experienced and expected such a smooth and quick replacement from any other e-comm so far. 5/5 for my side!
My Recommendation for my friends is – Go for it Buddy, You’ll not regret making a purchase.
