I had ordered a colour printer from Shopclues.com e-commerce site, and had paid the full amount by credit card. The delivery details came to me, saying it though DTDC
After visiting the gate once, the courier boy insisted they will not make a second delivery attempt. DTDC manager stopped taking calls.
DTDC fellows did not deliver for 40 days, and Shopclues.com sat like a spectator
Shopclues staff was unable to force DTDC to at least return the item in time, so that they could process the refund
While shopclues staff was polite, when they get a problem like this they are powerless by their company systems.
In any other well run company, if a courier branch was sitting on a consignment trying to steal it, the courier would be threatened with loss of business and payments of bills would be stopped. They would come running to recover the business. Not in Shopclues.
Only after 40 days , when DTDC decided in their own sweet time to return the parcel to shopclues, then the refund was processed.
I believe the problem is with the Shopclues management, which could consider renaming their website no-clues-on-customer-service.com. They have an intelligent, polite , ineffective and powerless customer care - what will I do with politeness of understanding, when they are unable to make their supplier (Courier) honour terms of delivery ?

Do not buy any items from Shopclues by paying the money in advance .
Buy only on Cash to pay / Cash on delivery basis
If you pre-pay you will get good deals in 9 occasions, and will be left high and dry on the 10th occasion. And that 10th occasion will cancel all the deals benefits, and more.
