On the 4th of October, several offer sites had mentioned about a 100% cashback offer of ShopClues. As a matter of fact, the ShopClues site itself had a banner on the main page which led to detailed terms and conditions. Being a regular online shopper, I wanted to ensure that I read the terms and conditions and put in the necessary coupon codes if required. ShopClues is one of the sites that puts up lavish ads to lure customers who later get disappointments while reading the fine prints.
So I ordered some useless items for 200 Rs thinking I anyway was getting a cashback with which I could buy stuff later.
Post that I waited the requisite number of days. No cashback. To my utter surprise they just credited 4 cluesbucks. I sent them a feedback both through the site and via email.
I must say that ShopClues is usually supportive when there are problems with products or when items have to be returned. However, this time there were absolutely no responses whatsoever. They seem to even have disabled the page that gave the terms and conditions.
It is a gargantuan fraud that seems to be happening here and they are shy of facing customers.
The combined order number is - 69875274
Update:
I am amazed at how ShopClues employees are not even aware of what kind of schemes are running on the website. Some weird lady called me up and she said thatsir we have already replied on registered email address. Sir we have already replied on registered email address. That is all she knew to repeat like a recorded tape.
I shop A LOT on websites. I do several thousand rupees worth of shopping EVERY SINGLE MONTH on various websites. So I know how to read the fine print before placing any orders. The offer CLEARLY said that the TOTAL order value has to be Rs 200 or more and from the SUNDAY FLEA MARKET. This lady who called me kept saying this one statementthe offer terms and conditions say that only non-discounted items are eligible for cashback. I KNOW how to read the terms and conditions properly and it clearly says that ALL items listed within the Sunday Flea Market sale are eligible for 100% cashback provided the combined order exceeds Rs 200. This way EVERY SINGLE item of your site is discounted in one way or the other. How is it possible that people get cashbacks?
And just because of this pathetic experience with ShopClues which is stingy about giving away 200 cluesbucks, I recently made two fairly expensive purchases and ensured they are from your competitor sites.
I can show you the order numbers. I bought a geyser and a room heater both from SnapDeal/Amazon even though the same items are slightly cheaper on ShopClues.
