There isn’t much screw up one can do when your buying books online..but yes, rediff did this... here is the story.
This was a gift for my dad on his marriage anniversary on 10th june and I had asked it to be delivered on 10th june instead it reached my home today after a melodramatic chain of events.
First of all, they call up my dad who is out of station 2-3 times asking him to collect the courier as the courier folks tried to deliver the courier during daytime in weekdays, when none of them is available at home !
When they failed to deliver the courier to my home and left messages, mom tried to reach the courier folks but it was the most unresponsive answers she got and was asked to take the courier personally from Mission road bangalore which is quite a distance from my home !
Next, she couldn’t comprehend what the courier folks were speaking, she requested her colleague to talk to them and even offered some tips(yes, we said we will pay, just deliver it !!) which made the courier to be delivered this weekend !
And all this while I did not even know that this courier discussion at home was regarding my gift as we were expecting few official important docs during this week in courier so there was a sense of urgency at home and as even I was not informed, we were anxious over this courier..
it was an utter disappointment and rage at home when they saw this was a gift not official docs for which we were running around...
and in the end...a suprise gift turned out to be rollar coaster ride at home !
