Your trusted friend

Rediff.com is a site which can hook you gradually. Like it has done in my case.

I was never interested in it initially and only checked mails here. It was the first site I opened an email address in. Over time, and after a couple of design changes in homepage, I started looking at the top articles listed just at the left of the email login box. I started finding interesting articles and reading them. I found the articles thoughtful, well-written and graphically well-presented. In short, they were top class articles. I read across sections- Get Ahead, Movies, Finance, Fitness et al.

Today I find Rediff as a friend who you can trust and look forward to meet everyday. The way Rediff has enriched my knowledge on various aspects of life is mindblowing.

Rediff cricket scores are also widely used. When a match I’m interested in is going on and I can’t follow it on TV but can access net, I turn to Rediff live scorecard. The updates are frequent and are almost ball-by-ball. It’s cricket reports are also detailed and insightful.

It is also good in breaking news. A recent example that’s immediatetly coming to my mind is that Rediff told me first when Saurav was dropped from test team.

Not to mention it’s mail service. So good it is that I’ve stopped using my Hotmail ID totally and check my Yahoo ID once in a while. Of late it has come up with 1 GB space (It was one of the first, or I think the only Indian site to offer 1 GB space after Google’s revolutionary move offering an email space of 1 GB that no one ever dreamt) which has taken the load off an user’s mind to check mail daily and delete spam mails in order to keep space free to receive desired mails. It reacted to Google’s revolutionary move the fastest. It regularly upgrades it’s email service which is among the most widely-used in India. Though sometimes minor technical snags appear (Like it shows the mail is on process being sent while it has already been sent), people look forward to send mails primarily at Rediff. So strong a connect it has with it’s users!

The homepage looks bright, vibrant and inviting. It’s a site that has changed over time and has felt the market pulse quite effectively.

Wish it all the best and look forward to see it go from strength to strength in the years to come.
