If we remember this simple age old saying, nobody can fool us of take us for a ride.
GREED is something which makes us take wrong decisions sometimes and each of us commit a mistake at least once in a lifetime.
Well! I won’t say it was greed that made me buy a Sci Phone from shopping.indiatimes.com, it was a basic need for a phone loaded with features. I came across SciPhone Dual Sim Multimedia 3.2" MP3/MP4 Bluetooth GSM Mobile Phone on the site.
2MPcamera, video recorder, gprs, java enabled etc.
So many features at Rs. 3999/- + Bluetooth worth 1600/- free was an irresistible deal for me. It had a sleek and great finish.
I was ok with this iphone clone as my work involves a lot of meetings at different places including clients, production houses, suppliers, printing press and many more such places where one can forget the phone and may never get it back. Other than this I need to check ad layouts on a big screen ( this has 3.2” LCD touch screen) on mail as many a times I am on the move and cant check ads in the office, it I find the ad ok, Ii forward it to the client from wherever I am.
I called up and booked the phone. They promised delivery in 10 days and to my surprise, it was delivered to me on 5th day. I was happy. I started exploring features and was excited to find this phone was just right for me. I could copy movies, use it as ipod, email, java games etc. After all this I called one of my friend to tell him that I got a new phone.
This is when I realised I got a defective handset. I could hear his voice loud and clear but he complained a very low microphone volume. I called up couple of more friends and got the same feedback. I decided to get a replacement and called up customer care to make a complaint. I Was given a complaint no., TNT courier instructions for free reverse courier. After doing all time taking formalities, I was sent a replacement after 10 days.
I was shocked to see the same defective handset come back to me in the name of replacement.
To recheck, I opened the pic gallery ( I clicked some pics with this camera) and found those pics there.
I called up again and the C.S.E had no clue as to what to be done next. All he did was apologised 4 times but could not give me a solution. I wanted to speak to his superior or manager but he was helpless. He gave me an option of either requesting for a replacement one more time or cancel the order.
I wanted to check how they work and what steps they take to resolve the problem in order to share the information on Mouthshut. I asked for a replacement again. I received a sms from indiatimes support team requesting for 2 working days to give me update on resolving the problem on March 5th. Its been more than 6 days and I have got no response from them.
I doubt these people really have quality products as well as they have no service standards set.
( I am not giving various complaint no.s , no of calls made to the customer support people and the duration of calls as it may not help you) They are prompt when it comes to book the order but when you choose the option of customer complaint, it takes a long time.
A complete NO NO.
