Recently, I had bought a Micromax funbook as a gift for my son. The product was delivered at my house on the evening of Thursday, Sep 27th . I opened the package on the same night, and found all the content was available. I did not charge the Micromax Funbook, as it was a birthday gift for my son.
My sons birthday was on Sunday, Sep 30th , i.e., three days after I received the product. I gave the Micromax funbook to my son on his birthday. After the Micromax funbook was charged on Sunday, he found that the touch screen was not working. I then removed the thin plastic film, and to my surprise, I found that there was a thin hairline crack at right bottom corner, which was not visible to the eyes if the fun book is not switched on, and the film is not removed. When I called customer service on Monday, Oct 1st , and reported the matter, the customer service agent informed me that all issues have to be reported within 24 hours of receiving the product. The customer agent told me that, he cannot accept/replace the product nor help me further, and asked me to contact Micromax customer service center. According to the customer service agent, all issues have to be reported within 24 hours. How can I imagine to have a product delivered with a crack on the screen. Moreover, I could hardly see the crack with the film on the screen.
I then approached Micromax customer service center, and they too refused to replace the product as there was a crack in the panel. The damage is not covered under warranty, and I will have to pay for replacing the front panel. This is highly ridiculous, that I will have to pay for something for which I am not at fault. Now I am stuck with a product which does not work, and all my money gone down the drain.
I also tried to report this matter on your website, under feedback/complaints, but the site does not work.
