The horrible service offered by https://shopping.indiatimes.com has forced me to write this review.
I had ordered a tablet on 14th March 2013(Order ID: 3002113159). The expected delivery time was one week that is 21st March. I thought that maybe this was going to be the maximum time they would take to deliver and thought nothing much of it, as I had got it at a cheaper rate than other websites.
I have plenty of online shopping experience and I order everything online. While other websites like Flipkart ship within 1-2 days and deliver within 4 days of ordering, Indiatimes after one week has not even shipped my product(22/03/2013). I can’t understand how can they take more than one week to ship a product and be competitive in this market, that is assuming they want to be competitive. But judging by this service I don’t think they are, something is seriously wrong with their back-end office and order processing.
After much hassle I was able to contact the customer care, who sadly have their hands tied about doing anything substantial besides being sorry for my trouble. They did not connect my call to someone senior upon my repeated insistence. Though they did register a case promptly(it looked as if they are experienced in registering cases all the time), I got a mail from them which mentioned the expected date of the case(ID: 758350) to be resolved as 8th April!. That is more than two weeks from now. So to sum it up, I had ordered a product on 14th March expected delivery on 22nd March and when I registered a case with them about non shipment, the expected date to resolve that is 8th April. 14th March-8thApril(25days)
I don’t know what is going to be the outcome of this, but it has already been a huge hassle for me and so I am writing this review, so that you can make an informed decision. For me this is my first and last experience of shopping on indiatimes.
So, I ask is it worth it? Saving 200-300 bucks and ordering from this website?
I leave it up to you. As for me, I would rather spend the extra money and get peace of mind rather than calling them up every day, mailing to them and still getting no positive response. I believe the websites which are charging a little extra truly deserve that due to their impeccable services and for me they are worth that premium.
The saddest part is indiatimes knows this is happening with almost all their customers(after reading other reviews), still their service has been below par at best.
