I had recently receiving emails with the fabulous offers from Indiatimes.com and so decided to try them. Grabbed a good offer on XBox 360 where they were giving 15% off, but never thought that will turn out to be a horrible experiece. I live in Gandhinagar which is Capital of Gujarat. I checked my pincode for serviceability and it showed serviceable as I live in a posh area in the city. I was so damn excited and even had been telling everyone about this great offer that I got from Indiatimes.
Few days went and I received an SMS that the order was shipped. Got smile on the face again. Decided to check the AWB, for which I had to login to the website as for some odd reasons, they don’t provide Courier company’s name and AWB in the sms. And for my surprise I saw a Name "Delhivery Express" and missed a heartbeat. Which kinda courier company is this?? Heard the name for the first time in my life. But thought it would be a great experience and so decided to wait. After 2 days when I check the status, it showed "Returned to the shipper as area not serviceable". This was the most surprising moment of my life as they don’t cover the areas of Capital of Gujarat. I immediately contacted Indiatimes and let them know of the situation. I was given assurance that they will ship it back again soon with some other reputed courier company. So I decided to place orders for 2 more game CDs and had hope that they all will get delivered sooner or later. I also instructed them not to use Delhivery as they don’t DELIVER at my place but for another surprise one of the CDs got shipped using Delhivery again.
I still kept calm and contacted them to inquire about my first order. I got answer that someone tried to contact me from Operations team where as I never got a call from anyone on my mobile. God knows how were they going to contact me. 2 days passed and never heard from them so lost my patience and decided to cancel the orders and called them back. After keeping me on hold for around 5 minutes (calling on a mobile number to get in touch with them is not free and they charge STD rates) I got through an agent named Pankaj to whom I requested to cancel the order. To my surprise he informed me that the orders were cancelled already.
I asked do you use Bluedart? he said yes and so I asked why was it soooo difficult to reship using Bluedart and he did not have any answer to that.. Frankly speaking, this has been a worst online shopping experience of my life and that too from Indiatimes. I think they should shut down the business if they can’t even take care about the basic things.
So it is bye bye Indiatimes. All the friends and family members who know that I’ve order will also now know how pathetic services we get from you. I’m never ever going to shop again (Pankaj however still told me to come back and shop again eventhough they can’t deliver, lol) and will make sure that noone in Gandhinagar does.
