LOL , This is a common phenomenon called Shopping. I do know many men who love to shop too ;-) . There comes many occasions when we do shopping, whether it is for groceries, clothes , personal effects or to buy gifts for someone. We all have todo some shopping, Today I am just sharing my shopping experience with you all.
Why Do I Shop Online ?
I love to send gifts to my friends on various occasions important to them. Though I like to personally handpick the gift items sometimes it is not possible for me to do that. So the other option is to ask someone else to shop for me, now this is not possible as two different people may not choose the same things as their choices may differ. The remaining option left is Online shopping, which I can do conveniently sitting at home.
Why Did I Choose Indiatimes Shopping?
When I have only Online Shopping as a last option, India times Shopping comes to my rescue, I have been using this service on and off for four years, found it very satisfactory. The things I purchased were always available at reasonable rates at par with other shops. If I purchase from other shops and send then I would have to pay additional courier charges but at Indiatimes most of the time shipping is free, Even if there are charges they are very nominal approx Rs50/-, so usually the buyers including me do not mind.
How I Got Hooked To This Site?
Being an avid book lover , I was searching for some Encylopedias to send as birthday gift to my Friend’s daughter, I came across The Book Club. They offered a year’s membership, A book from the given list of books to choose as a free gift and good discounts on subsequent purchases all for Rs 250/- ( This was some 3-4 yrs back) . I bought the membership and I chose an Oxford Dictionary as my free gift. This was real cool bargain as I got pretty discounts too on subsequent purchases. At present I have ceased tobe a member of this club. I now send books sold by an NGO to which I am attached as a Freelance Translator. This good experience of buying from this site led me too purchase soft toys too. Books and toys are the main items that I usually purchase from this site.

Books for book lovers, Toys for your kids, stuff toys are my favourite buys and Sport Items for kids as well as for people of all ages. There is also a variety of Electronic Goods like Computers, Gaming Consoles, Cameras, Mobiles and other electronic items, Decoration Pieces that you can buy to decorate your home. Flowers you can send to wish your near and dear ones or an acquaintance or to your business colleagues. A large varieties of Cd’s and Dvd’s are also available. There are also Health and Fitness items to let you remain healthy without spending huge amount of money, which you would spend by going to gyms. To make yourself more beautiful there are also Beauty and Personal Care items, so groom yourself and leave others pursuing you ;-) There are also Gems Stones and other Astrological Products available for those interested in Astrology.

Navigation of the site is very easy, You can shop according to the brand that you prefer like when I want stuff toys, I usually go straight to Archies. There is also a New Arrivals section, where you can know the latest entrants on the shopping list or there is another option where the list of Festivals is given and you can shop for suitable items depending upon the festivals. You can also see what items are sold most, by seeing Popular searches, this also helps you in deciding the items you want to buy.
Purchase and Contact Details
Once you select an item/s , you add them to the shopping cart, when you finish making all ur purchases, you can checkout. After checking out you are taken to a page where you are asked for the details such as your name, contact number, email Id , address etc. If you are sending this to someone else then you have to enter their contact details. What I like best is that these details are saved and if I am sending gifts again I do not have to fill these details again. LOL saves time and energy which I would save by typing uff otherwise it is a tedious job for a finger typist like me. After the filling of contact / shipping details comes the time for payment. Hehe everything in life is not free, so be ready to shell out moolah.
How Do I Pay?
There are various payment options available, you do not have to move out of your home to make payment. So all ye lazy beings To make payment for your purchases you can use Net Banking, Credit Cards, Cheques / DD’s , if you are not comfortable with these modes they even offer the option of COD or Cash On Delivery, whereby they deliver the product and you make the payment on receipt of your order. When you use this service you are awarded points called Net Carrots which you can redeem upon your next purchase. You can also redeem your gift coupons and if you happen to have more than one gift coupon you can merge them too while making your purchase.
The best thing is that they use secure getway for payments which makes me feel safe while using Net Banking to pay for my purchases. Once when making a purchase there was some problem during the transaction and I got my refund but I had todo a little follow up with their Customer Care, this area needs a little improvement.
Level Of Satisfaction
Always the shipment has reached in good condition, not even a scratch on the things, never a broken thing, the toys intact, not a single page torn or missing from the books that I ordered. Goods delivered on time. Also I never had any order changed or the wrong item shipped to me.
