Pretty slow except in taking payments!

UPDATE 20th June(4 days after order and payment).... **Shocking Revelation


I had ordered a HTC ONE X+ on 17th June, which was available at the most competitive price as compared to other e-commerce vendors, under the father’s day deal. The discount offered was about 12% and hence I went ahead with the payment through my credit card.


As soon as the payment was completed, I was greeted by a SMS as well as an email informing me of the order details and the likely delivery date of 26th June. So far so good but since this was my first time shopping with Indiatimes, I was unaware as to how slow they get after receiving the payment.


It’s been 4 days now and there has been no update about the order on the "Track Order" section. Other e-commerce vendors, like Flipkart and Infibeam, ship the product the very next day and provide the customer with AWB Number to track their shipments regularly.


I have been extremely patient till now because I realized on reading the reviews here that they usually take their own sweet time in updating the shipment details.


Indiatimes Shopping needs to realize that providing the customer with quick and timely details about the shipment is a necessary prerequisite for a good online shopping experience. Just providing the least price( which is commendable though) and a timely delivery(which is not going as planned for a lot of people) is just not enough on their part.


My final experience remains to be seen but I do sincerely hope that it does not turn out to be a life lesson instead of a shopping experience.

UPDATE: 20th June, 2 PM: Got a call from Customer Care Executive named ’Komal’. She informed me that the product is out of stock and hence the order is being cancelled and that I will get a refund within 5 to 7 working days through the same mode of payment.


Now what is shocking is that I had called customer care just 3 hours before this call and till then the reply was to wait till 26th and the delivery will happen on time or maybe even before that. How is it that 4 days have passed since they received full payment and were unable to ascertain about the availability of the product.


Now I just hope that the refund happens as promised. Want to be done and over with this portal for ever after this experience. Will update the review when it happens so that others can be watchful later on.
