Let them stay open

I know here most entertainment does not start until 9 or 10 in the evening so closing down at 11 would not be a good idea as you would have no time to do anything in an hour.

I am talking about night clubs and the reason I would go to one would be to hear the band and dance and I would want more than an hour to do that. Most places you have to pay a cover charge of anywhere from$4.00 US dollars on up and I would not spend the money for just an hour.

In my area the night clubs open around 7 pm so if you want to go and talk with people first you can. Once the band starts it is hard to have a conversation except when they take a break.

The last call for drinks is usually at 1:30 as they close at 2 a.m. That is state law in Massachusetts.

It varies from state to state however and we border New York state where the night clubs are allowed to stay open until 4 a.m. Each state is different.

I see no reason to put a time on closing. It should up to the owner whether they want to stay open or closed.

I do think that all night clubs should serve coffee and here they don’t. It is a good idea even to serve breakfast so those that have had a bit too much to drink can get sober before they leave.

Also here if they know you well and you go there quite frequently they will take your car keys and make you take a taxi if you have had too much to drink.

If you plan to drink a lot make sure you either have a driver that does not drink or that you take a taxi. Don’t put yourself and others into a situation of being hurt or worse.

I can go out dancing and not drink and still have fun and I am not saying a person should not have a couple of drinks if they are capable of handling it. You may feel capable of driving even when you aren’t so let some one else drive.

I do however feel that the longer a club is open the more drinks people will consume, and I feel the owners and bar maids should shut a person off if they feel they have had too many. Most will not as they lose money and that is their

main concern.

If the bands played earlier then I think midnight would be a good closing time but that is just my personal opinion and I still think that the owner should be able to decide their own hours and not be told by the state when they can or can not be open.

Another thing that happens here makes no sense to me. All pubs and night clubs are open on Sunday and sell drinks yet you can not buy it in a store on Sunday as it is the only day it is not sold.
