Ganga's drought - only for so long

If it was just a case of dropping ganguly from the Indian cricket team then ask me, I would say no and most of you will not agree to this but I have many good reasons to go with it... Ganguly has played 250+ ODI’s and has scored over 9900 runs at an average of 41..He also has healthy strike rate of 80 runs/100 balls.....Now isn’t that remarkable...He is nearing to 10, 000 runs and people feel that he should no more be included in the team...Good we didnt have selectors like our so called ’Bharat Army’.. Ganguly has a highest score of 183, highest by an Indian in WC..

Now lets look at a few series that dada has played:

1)Down-under 2003:

It was Ganguly who started it all off with a magnificent 144 in the 1st test match. Not many have scored 120+ against the Aussies on their homeland...His innings of 144 pumped up the Indians for the remainder of the series and against all odds they drew against the champs...Not many Indian captains have gone there and drawn the series or won it...Infact it was after 20 years that India won a match on Australian soil and it was dada who led them to this victory...

2)India in Pakistan:

Because of their performance in Australia, Indians started as favourites and didnt dissapoint...Although Dada didnt do much with the bat his captaincy was a hit...His leadership proved vital as India went on to win the series 2-1...then we move to ODI’s.....Ganguly played a couple of mind-blowing innings which went un-noticed and India won that series also 3-2..

3)Australia in India...

If I say that ganga had a poor series then it would be unfair because all except for Sehwag played poorly...Look at it as a whole team and not an individual...India lost the series but won a match as well..

*4)RSA in India:

*After getting beaten by the Aussies in India, Team india was under a bit of pressure.. India drew the first test match but eventually won the series 1-0...

*5)Pakistan in India

*It wasnt a good series for dada but as I said, Look at it as a team and not an individual...India drew the series...the one dayers... India won the first 2 ODI’s but lost the 3rd one...How many captains would have given Sachin to bowl in such a pressure-tight series? No one except for ganguly.. There was a time when Dravid didnt score a half-century for about 44 gameswhy wasn’t there any speculation of dropping him? Because they knew it was a dry patch for him...Also I would like to say that the selectors have looked at it as the same for Ganguly and it wont be long before people in the stadium stand up and clap for ganguly..

A special message for those who dont support dada, ’’Think twice before you speak once’’
