Siemens Ltd is one of the best employers that I have had as yet. I work at Kalwa Works which is also their head office. Siemens have a very good working culture. The best part for any employee will be that the working hours are flexible. You can walk in at any time between 8am – 10 am and complete 9 working hours from then on.
They have a bus transport facility for all the employees, on payroll and off payroll / contract employees. The usual working hours of the company is between 8am – 5pm. They have 5 days working, another best part I love about my company.
3000 people work in the campus, hence they have a huge canteen which can hold almost 2000 people at a time. The food served is quite good. The company canteen serves 2 breakfasts and a lunch in a day. The food served is hygienic and tasty. Apart from this, every floor has a pantry and the employees can have refreshments whenever they want.
Though it is an MNC, the company culture here is quite different than working cultures in US companies. Here enterprising people are encouraged, and nobody is behind anyone’s back to get things done. Everyone is given their own freedom, leisure and space to complete a particular task. This enables people to have a free mind and willingly work to their best levels.
Holiday structure is quite good and every employee gets maximum 3 paid leaves in a month. Female employees have 6 months paid maternity leave policy and the men also get 3 months paternity leave. Apart from these 6 months maternity leave for females, if they have accumulated leaves as many as possible, they can add these leaves to their maternity leave period, and get it extended. This is a very encouraging and employee friendly policy that they have.
All in all, I feel Siemens is a good company to work with.
