SifyMall worked out well enough

I am a regular user of Ebay, whose professional website I can vouch for anytime. But I found this cool product I was looking for on Sify Mall, at an amazing price. In spite of all the negative reviews for Sify Mall, I went ahead and placed the order because of the price.


Now, I was quite eager to receive the item, so obviously I was expecting immediate delivery. But as it turned out, 4 days after I placed the order and transferred the money via internet banking, the item still said "Order pending authorization".


What the hell? I tried getting in touch with their customer service which was a bad experience. Most of the time, its busy and then an automated service takes your mobile number promising to call back in one hour, which you can forget about. I even tried their chat service which is little better. I finally got in touch with a representative who said I have to check with my bank to confirm the amount has been transferred. Come on, everything is done through their website and there is no chance of a mistake. The amount had already been debited from my account.


I buried my enthusiasm and settled down to a long wait. Surprisingly, on the 5th day, a courier guy came over and handed me my package, perfectly packed. The product was also all that I had hoped for. Now the ad for the product always maintains 5-7 days for shipping, and I received it in time. I later found out that since I had placed the order on Friday, (Saturday and Sunday being holidays), things got slightly delayed but still within their committed timeframe. Well done Sify.
