Stereotype Show.

Right after watching Siya Ke Ram, which is the new favorite in my house, this new serial started. I guess it is too early to write a review, but based on my prior experience with hindi serials, they just get worse after the first few episodes.

First, lets begin with the details. It stars Shilpa Shirodkar, who plays the role of  Janki Devi an over-possessive, snobbish Mother of Raunak, played by Abhay Vakil. Janki Devi adores her son( which is quite normal) but in this show it is a bit overdone. Janki Devi gets up in the morning, gets ready and then walks all the way from her room to her son’s room with her eyes closed, as her mornings begin by looking at her son’s face. The drama is a bit over the top. Her son Raunaq, on the other hand, seems like a normal guy who is in love with a girl. The girl is Chavvi, daughter of a middle class halwai, who studies in the same college as Raunak.

The whole story is about a Mother who lives her life through her son. The way she tries to control her son’s life seems abnormal. May be instead of taking it over the top, the show makers could have shown something more realistic. Well, after watching two episodes, I know for a fact that I won’t be watching the third one. Same old storyline, rich guy falls for a middle class girl, rich guy’s Mother has a problem with that. This tv serial has nothing new to offer, same age-old story line with stereotype characters. So stay away, watch some other show like Siya Ke Ram or something else. Don’t waste your precious time on this serial.
